Job summary

Sherborne Primary School is recruiting a Teacher of Photography, Art or Art 3D to join its large, creative Art and Creative Design department. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, capable of engaging students across the full age range, and will blend traditional techniques with new technologies to nurture students' creative voices.

Applications are encouraged early; the role is a Full-Time, fixed-term post to December 2027 to cover maternity leave, on M1–M6 scales.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge and genuine passion for Photography, Art and/or Art 3D.
• Inspirational and enthusiastic teacher who can engage students across ages and abilities.
• Encourage experimentation, creativity, independence and exploration.
• Combine traditional approaches with contemporary technologies and processes.
• Commitment to developing students' skills and understanding of the creative process.

Responsibilities

• Engage students across the full age and ability range with high-quality teaching.
• Encourage experimentation and creativity through practical and imaginative learning.
• Inspire confidence and curiosity in Photography, Art and/or Art 3D.
• Promote high-quality teaching and learning and contribute to the department and school.
• Support extra-curricular opportunities, exhibitions and wider creative projects.
