Job summary

East Coast College is recruiting a Teacher of Geography and Environmental Science for Lowestoft Sixth Form College. 0.65 FTE (24.05 hours) per week, permanent contract, on the Lecturers Scale (£35,112.48 – £41,600.00).

You will deliver engaging Geography and Environmental Science at Level 3, support learners to achieve excellence, and contribute to safeguarding and student welfare within a supportive college environment.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of learners.
• Ability to deliver Geography teaching at Level 3 with effective assessment.
• Provide pastoral guidance, employability advice and inclusive support.
• Plan courses, maintain records, monitor attendance and progress.
• Hold a relevant degree and teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding Geography teaching at Level 3 across college provision.
• Assess learner progress and support progression to university or employment.
• Provide pastoral support and careers guidance to students.
• Plan and manage courses; maintain accurate records and monitoring data.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve excellent learner outcomes.
