Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is seeking an English Teacher for a full-time, long-term position starting November 2026 in a welcoming 11-16 secondary school. The school maintains high expectations for student achievement and a supportive environment for staff development. Ofsted rating is Good.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS or equivalent, have experience teaching English in a secondary setting, and be able to teach English up to GCSE level with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent required.
• Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to teach English up to GCSE level.

Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature up to Key Stage 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons.
• Support students in developing reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Contribute to the wider English department and school community.
