Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a Bristol-based school in recruiting a Drama Teacher for a full-time, permanent role in Taunton, Somerset. You will deliver dynamic Drama lessons across Key Stages, help shape the Drama curriculum and engage students in the performing arts programme.

The successful candidate will foster creativity, confidence and collaboration while upholding safeguarding standards and contributing to school productions and events.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or appropriate teaching qualification.
• Degree in Drama, Theatre, Performing Arts, or related subject.
• Experience teaching Drama in a secondary school or similar setting.
• Good understanding of curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Desirable: Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level Drama.
• Desirable: Experience directing or producing school performances.
• Desirable: Professional theatre or performing arts experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons across Key Stages.
• Teach Drama in line with the school curriculum and schemes of work.
• Develop students' performance, devising, analytical and evaluative skills.
• Use varied approaches to support different learning styles.
• Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and participation.
• Support extracurricular Drama activities and school productions.
