Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a Criminology Teacher (Social Sciences) for a maternity-cover post at Brentwood. The role runs 8am–4pm and covers 0.7 of the timetable across a fortnight (3.5 days per week). Start date is after October Half Term.

You will plan and deliver engaging Criminology lessons, teach across abilities, cover topics from crime to the justice system, and monitor progress. The ideal candidate will hold QTS or equivalent and have the confidence to manage classrooms and promote a

Qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent or has relevant teaching experience.
An enthusiastic and knowledgeable Criminology specialist.
Confident teaching Criminology and related subjects.
Able to engage and motivate students of different abilities.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging and challenging Criminology lessons.
Teach students across a range of abilities and learning needs.
Cover topics including crime, criminal behaviour, the criminal justice system and theories of crime.
Prepare students effectively for assessments and examinations.
Monitor, assess and track student progress.
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve.
Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Encourage students to develop their analytical, research and critical-thinking skills.
Build positive relationships with students and encourage a strong work ethic.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider curriculum.
Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
