Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for a class of children as designated by the Executive Headteacher and Head of School
• Plan stimulating, challenging and enjoyable activities to provide unforgettable learning opportunities
• Teach pupils according to their educational needs
• Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils
• Promote the general progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any other class or group of pupils assigned
• Provide guidance and advice to pupils on educational and social matters
• Make records of and reports on the personal and social needs of pupils
• Communicate and consult with parents of pupils
• Participate in Parent Information Evenings
• Communicate and consult with persons or bodies outside the school
• Provide or contribute to oral and written assessment reports and references relating to individual pupils and groups of pupils
• Participate in arrangements made for Performance Management
• Review from time to time methods of teaching and programmes of work
• Participating in arrangements for further training and professional development as a teacher
• Advise and co-operate with the Headteacher and other teachers on course preparation and development
• Maintain good order and discipline among pupils and safeguarding health and safety
• Participate in school meetings relating to curriculum, administration or organisation
• Supervise and, as far as practicable, teach any pupils whose teacher is not available
• Be responsible, under Headteacher guidance, for the development of a Curriculum Area; organise and manage resources; keep policy up to date; monitor delivery; liaise with colleagues
