The purpose of Healthcare Improvement Scotland is to enable the people of Scotland to experience the best quality health and social care.

Our joint inspections of health and social care services are delivered with a range of partner agencies. We are looking for an inspector to join our multiagency inspection portfolio. The successful candidate will contribute to the leadership management and delivery of a range of joint inspection activity which may include joint inspections of services for adults, services for children and young people and public protection.

You will be a health or care professional with a current registration and significant senior experience in a relevant area of health and social care service provision. An understanding of the principles and drivers for health and social care integration in Scotland, along with a strong awareness of public protection in a health context are key. A recognised qualification in either child protection or adult support and protection is desirable.

Also essential to the role is the ability to interact with people who use services and staff to understand their experiences and perspectives, consider complex information to draw evidence-based conclusions and lead on specific elements of the inspection, thereafter presenting your findings coherently for inclusion in published reports.

This is an exciting opportunity to operate at a national level, develop skills related to inspection and quality assurance and expand your knowledge of the operations of Healthcare Improvement Scotland and our partner scrutiny agencies.
