We are looking for an Insight Manager who can create actionable insights from quantitative and qualitative data that inspires, tells a story and plays a part in Lumina Intelligence being the market leading, valued and trusted opinion for the Foodservice and Hospitality sectors.
A keen eye for detail and a love of numbers is vital for this role. The Insight Manager will need to enjoy the variety of data analysis and desk research, creating visually engaging reports, presenting insights at events, along with collaborating with clients, the Lumina Intelligence team and wider business to become a well‑known and regarded expert in the hospitality industry.
What you’ll be doing:
- Utilising storytelling principles and expert data visualisation to contribute to the creation of highly regarded market leading reports, that include cutting edge analysis and interpretation of data and research
- Shaping and driving Lumina Intelligence’s Foodservice market expertise. Creating actionable, deep and inspirational insights and recommendations that help clients build strategic plans for the out‑of‑home and hospitality markets
- Having ownership of market intelligence, market sizing products and future growth forecasting from an operator perspective using sector expertise and publicly available sources to update critical information and forecast future figures. Being an expert in analysing the financial landscape in which pubs, bars, and restaurants are operating in and drawing themes
- Representing the insight team at events, including being an ambassador for the Lumina brand and its insights externally, as well as presenting at Lumina’s quarterly food strategy forums
- Managing and overseeing client or syndicated projects from proposal stage through to client management and delivery. Ensuring high standards are met and projects are delivered on time, managing both internal and external expectations
- Owning your project workflow schedule to ensure the wider business is kept up to date. Reviewing, feedbacking, and quality controlling outputs created by other members of the insight team
- Working with sales, marketing and research & data teams to ensure content delivery is consistent across the business, delivered against key commercial targets, stays close to client feedback and changing demands, and that requests are delivered with quality, accuracy and on time
- Collaborating with other hospitality brands within William Reed such as MCA, The Grocer and Forecourt Trader
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Proven experience is a similar or relevant role either in a consultancy, agency or working at a FMCG manufacturer, retailer or foodservice operator
- Passion for food & drink and a keen interest in the hospitality sector would be desirable
- A solid understanding of research methodologies and data analysis
- Outstanding attention to detail and confident in data visualisation and storytelling techniques with the ability to effectively explain and present data & insight in both written and verbal formats with an eye for design
- Comfortable with providing forecasts and overlaying them with evidence and opinion
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence others, and play a part in creating a positive team culture
- Fantastic organisation skills and capable of working independently and managing own workload
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly using Excel, and experience using data visualisation and analysis platforms
- Advanced analytics and statistics experience using platforms such as Python and PowerBI is highly desirable, but not essential
- Willingness to travel to and present at events
