Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker for Weston General Hospital. You will work with nursing teams to support patients with personal care, nutrition and mobility, promoting dignity and wellbeing.

No previous healthcare experience is required as full training and Care Certificate support will be provided. Applicants must be flexible across all shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• This is a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker role on acute inpatient wards.
• Previous healthcare experience is not essential; full training and support provided.
• Must be fully flexible across all shift patterns (days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays).

Responsibilities

• Supporting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including washing, dressing and continence care.
• Assisting with eating and drinking to meet nutritional and hydration needs.
• Assisting mobility and repositioning to promote independence and pressure area care.
• Providing emotional support to patients and their families.
• Observing patients and reporting changes to the Registered Nurse.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and tidy environment to reduce infection risk.
