Job description
Innovation Analyst – Drive a Greener Future with the @One Alliance

Location: Peterborough / Hybrid

Who are we?

We’re the @one Alliance – a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO. Together, we deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

As we prepare for AMP8, our most ambitious period yet, we’ll be delivering an even broader range of innovative and environmentally-driven infrastructure projects – from urban drainage to nature-based solutions like constructed wetlands.

Why join us?

We’re tackling some of the biggest environmental challenges of our time—head on. Serving one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most water-stressed regions, we’re investing in bold, innovative solutions to secure a sustainable future for our communities and our natural world. Join us and be part of a team that’s passionate about protecting the environment, driving meaningful change, and supporting a thriving East of England. You’ll contribute to projects that make a real difference—powered by data, driven by collaboration, and rooted in purpose.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Champion innovation by actively contributing ideas and supporting the development of creative solutions to business challenges.
  • Take initiative in exploring new concepts, helping to assess their feasibility and potential impact.
  • Represent the team at internal and external events, stay informed on industry trends and share insights to inspire others.
  • Support the development of business cases by analysing data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of innovation projects that align with organisational goals and deliver positive outcomes for people, communities, and the environment.
  • Identify opportunities where innovation can add value or improve efficiency within commercial processes.
  • Build and maintain positive, inclusive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Work with the communications team to help craft and deliver clear, engaging messages that advocate for innovation.
What you’ll bring:
  • Degree in a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with tools for data analysis, collaboration, or innovation management (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Miro, or similar platforms).
  • Experience working with data—quantitative or qualitative analysis.
  • Previous involvement in projects related to innovation, carbon, or social value is advantageous but not essential.
  • Awareness of water, infrastructure, or sustainability challenges.
Our vision and values:

Vision: To help Anglian Water achieve Net Zero operational carbon by 2030, while creating climate‑resilient assets that will benefit future generations.

Values: Build trust • Do the right thing • Always explore
