Overview

Injection Mould Toolmaker

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Injection Mould Toolmaker to join our skilled and dedicated team based in Stevenage. Working in a modern, well-equipped toolroom, you will be responsible for the manufacture, modification, maintenance, and repair of high-precision injection mould tools. Our facilities include Hurco machining centres, Sodick wire and CNC spark eroders, Jones & Shipman surface grinders, with in-house Pro Engineer design and Powermill CAM programming systems.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture, modify, and repair injection mould tools to high precision standards
  • Operate a range of equipment including: Manual milling machines and lathes; Surface and cylindrical grinders; Manual and CNC spark eroders; CNC wire eroders
  • Carry out tool fitting, assembly, and adjustment for production readiness
  • Manufacture and fit new injection mould tools as required
  • Perform general toolmaking activities including milling, grinding, and fitting
  • Use hand tools such as files, hacksaws, and grinders
  • Wire and troubleshoot hot runner systems
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and within specified timeframes
Skills and Experience Required
  • Proven experience in injection mould toolmaking and high-precision machining
  • Strong knowledge of tool assembly, fitting, and repair for complex mould tools
  • Skilled in manual machining, grinding, and EDM processes
  • CNC machining experience is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
