Initial Teacher Training Lecturers in Secondary Biology

Ref: REQ001789 (Part‑time – 6 days across the academic year)

University Centre Farnborough is seeking lecturers to support post‑graduate trainee teachers and their school‑based mentors as they progress through their Initial Teacher Training year, leading to Qualified Teacher Status in Biology.

Ideally, candidates will be experienced and knowledgeable Secondary school teachers (11‑16, Biology) who have had previous experience of mentoring trainee teachers or run Initial Teacher Training programmes in their own schools. The roles are suitable for dynamic, experienced and innovative Secondary School subject specialists and/or subject leaders in English or Science who wish to play a front‑line role in developing the next generation of teachers.

Responsibilities

These part‑time positions require the following days across the academic year:

  • Thursday 6th November
  • Thursday 13th November
  • Friday 9th January
  • Thursday 26th February
  • Wednesday 15th April
  • Thursday 16th April

*Some flexibility may be possible.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Experienced Secondary school teacher (11‑16, Biology) or subject leader in English or Science
  • Previous mentoring experience with trainee teachers or experience running Initial Teacher Training programmes
  • Willingness to commit to part‑time hours across the academic year (or a secondment from current place of work)
