IT Infrastructure Team Lead
Preston
£38,897 - £42,081 per annum.
Up to 10% of annual salary offered for an outstanding candidate

An IT infrastructure Team Lead is required for our education client based in Preston. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for the organisation's infrastructure environment. You'll lead the Infrastructure & Systems sub-team, manage two Infrastructure Engineers, and ensure the delivery of secure, resilient, and future-ready IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead infrastructure projects, upgrades, and migrations
  • Administer networks, Servers, cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure AD)
  • Oversee endpoint management (Intune & JAMF)
  • Maintain and optimise SQL Server environments
  • Support cybersecurity, compliance, and disaster recovery planning

Skills:

Essential:

  • Degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure, cloud, and endpoint management
  • Proven leadership and IT Infrastructure project delivery experience
  • Hands on Microsoft 365 and Azure AD
  • Experience maintaining SQL Server environments
  • Experience of cybersecurity monitoring and incident response
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable:

  • Industry certifications (eg, Azure, SQL, Cisco, ITIL)
  • Experience in education or public sector IT
  • Strategic planning and systems integration knowledge
