Job description

We are seeking a highly driven and technically proficient Infrastructure Team Leader to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of our infrastructure environment, with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies—primarily AWS.

As the Infrastructure Team Lead, you will manage a small, skilled team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our systems. You will work closely with software engineering, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders to support strategic goals, ensure high availability of services, and optimise system costs and performance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Proven experience in infrastructure management, ideally in a leadership or senior engineering role.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, etc.
  • Reporting responsibilities to the Leadership Team.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with IaC, utilising terraform.
  • Good understanding of networking, system architecture, and cloud cost management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and manage workload distribution within a team.
  • Collecting and publishing platform and team KPI’s with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and other monitoring tools.
  • Line managing the infrastructure team, ensuring regular 121 meetings and carrying annual reviews.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide upward reporting to the Head of Software Engineering and the Leadership Team.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
  • Maintaining and extending existing platforms using:
    • AWS SDKs
    • Terraform
    • Go
    • PHP
  • Security and Compliance:
    • IAM roles, policies, and permissions
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Network security groups and ACLs
    • Encryption and key management
    • Compliance with AWS Well-Architected Framework and industry standards
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or senior developer role, ideally within SaaS or enterprise software.
  • Strong hands‑on coding skills in modern frameworks and languages (e.g., PHP, Go, Symphony, Laravel).
  • Proven experience leading agile software development teams.
  • Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and microservices.
  • Experience managing technical roadmaps and stakeholder expectations.
  • Confident working with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
Desirable
  • Experience in the attractions, ticketing, or leisure industries.
  • Familiarity with reporting systems, data pipelines, and system configuration tools.
  • Prior involvement in system re‑architecture or platform migration projects.
