Job summary

Scale AI in London is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer for the Apps Platform to help expand deployment across cloud providers and on‑prem environments.

You will partner with internal teams to understand deployment needs, design cloud‑agnostic solutions, and drive end‑to‑end projects, including architecture reviews and incident response.

The role demands 5+ years of infra experience, strong IaC and CI/CD skills, and a drive to build repeatable, secure deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building enterprise solutions across AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI/on-prem.
• Deep expertise in infrastructure design, networking, VPNs, load balancers & firewalls.
• Proficient with IaC, containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker).
• Strong CI/CD knowledge using GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
• Experience with GitOps deployments and repeatable processes.

Responsibilities

• Expand deployment footprint to cover on-prem and all cloud platforms.
• Ensure fast, secure, and reproducible deployments across CSPs and on‑prem.
• Expand observability to support customer deployments and internal teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand needs and build tooling.
• Respond to incidents with root cause analysis and preventive fixes.
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap for deployment and observability.
• Lead architecture reviews and own projects end-to-end.

This is a role for someone who cares about building cloud-agnostic infrastructure and deployment pipelines.You'll partner closely with internal teams to understand how they use and deploy the platform, debug their issues, and shape a roadmap that balances immediate needs with long-term architecture.### You will:* Expand the deployment footprint of our platform to cover both on-premise, all major cloud platforms and beyond* Ensure fast, secure, and reproducible deployments across all supported CSPs and on-prem* Expand the observability of the platform so that forward deployed infrastructure teams can easily and efficiently operate customer deployments* Partner closely with internal teams deploying the platform to understand their needs, debug issues, and build tooling that serves their use cases* Respond to incidents and production issues with urgency, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive fixes* Help develop and maintain a product roadmap for deployment and observability* Lead architecture reviews and own projects end-to-end, from design through deployment, in fast-paced cross-functional settings### Ideally you'd have:* 5+ years of experience building and deploying enterprise and public sector solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI and on-premises* Deep expertise in infrastructure design, networking engineering, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls* Deep proficiency with IaC, containerisation and orchestration tools and technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker)* Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery principles using GitHub Actions or CircleCI.* Experience with GitOps-style deployments and a track record of ensuring consistent, repeatable deployments* Strong debugging skills and the ability to navigate performance/security tradeoffs in production systems* Comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to context-switch between reactive incident work and proactive product development### Nice to haves:* Experience as a founder or early engineer at an infrastructure-focused startup, owning a product end-to-end* Experience running secure workloads in multi-tenant or untrusted environments (e.g., FaaS, CI sandboxes, remote notebooks)* Open-source contributions to systems or developer-tools projects* History of on-call/incident response for production systems***PLEASE NOTE:*** *Our policy requires a 90-day waiting period before reconsidering candidates for the same role.
