A national security agency in the UK is seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support their operations. This role involves managing infrastructure platforms, providing technical support, and ensuring best practices. Candidates should have a background in platform infrastructure support or cloud platforms and ability to quickly learn technical skills. The position offers a competitive salary and shift allowances.
Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) relies on a wide range of technologies. As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will support the Infrastructure services that underpin CTP operations to keep the country safe.
This role is aligned to the Infrastructure Operations Engineer role set out within the Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework (DDAT).
You will join a team of Infrastructure Operations Engineers, located east of Birmingham, with easy access to the M6 and M42. This is a fantastic opportunity to assist in working within a world class Platform Services Team, providing technical support for the network, from 7am to 7pm on weekdays. Compressed shift patterns are available allowing a 4-day working week. You’ll also join an on‑call rota, providing critical support, 24/7/365.
At this role level, you will:
Work with a ticketing system to action service requests, incidents, and changes to the infrastructure platforms. Adhere to best practices for infrastructure technologies. Work within a service management tool working through ticket workloads to SLA (Service Level Agreement) priority. You will work on a variety of platforms and tools so having the ability to quickly learn technical skills are key to your success.
The ideal candidate will have:
A background in platform infrastructure support or cloud platforms. The Infrastructure Operations Engineer will be part of an Agile service delivery team.
The Platform Services team is a key component of Counter Terrorism Police’s IT strategy which operational activities depend on.

The salary is broken down as £42,203 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £47,668. Plus, 12.5% shift disturbance allowance, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
