Colas Rail UK is seeking an experienced Train Driver to operate our locomotives, from class 37s to class 43 powercars, across Wessex, Sussex and Western routes.

You will be essential to running IM services, ensuring a safe, reliable operation, and delivering best-in-class service for freight customers.

Purpose of the Role

As a train driver, you will have the opportunity to work on various locomotives: from our class 37 loco’s to our class 43 powercars. You will be a key player to run our IM services You will be empowered to ensure a safe and reliable service operation of IM trains as a role model Train Driver offering a best in class service.

Person Specification

You Will Have

• Train Driver Experience with Wessex, Sussex and/or Western route knowledge
• Ensure safety of the line and all employees and public that may be affected by the operation of trains.
• A clean safety record
• A current PTS (third rail) appropriate to CTRL
• A full UK driving licence
• Flexibility with working shift patterns.
• Ability to identify competency standards required as a result of legislation, operational standards and safety procedures and maintain same by audit and surveillance

Key Responsibilities

In your role, you will work with rostering and training teams, driver standards managers, delivery managers, and staff at all levels so that freight services could run safety, and on time.
