Job Description

Infrastructure Engineer (Drainage / Highways) – Salary: Up to £45K DOE – Location: Leeds

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be joining a leading civil and structural engineering firm in Leeds. You will play a key role in delivering exciting infrastructure projects from concept to construction, using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. If you are passionate about design, detail and making an impact, this is your chance to grow with a well‑established and dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare plans and technical drawings for all stages of the project lifecycle, including concept design, detailed design, and construction.
  • Produce design drawings to support technical approvals and guide construction, ensuring they meet all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Undertake infrastructure design using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D, focusing on accuracy, quality, and industry best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams, contributing technical expertise throughout the project delivery process.
What are we looking for
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from initial concept through to final completion in a multi‑disciplinary consultancy environment.
  • Solid technical knowledge with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and WinDes (MicroDrainage), with practical experience in the design of drainage systems.
  • Sound understanding of flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, and preparation of Section 104 adoption agreements.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable, particularly for earthworks modelling and highway design.
  • Familiarity with preparation of Section 38 and Section 278 agreements is a distinct advantage.
