A leading financial services provider is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer, Db2 Systems Programmer in Scotland. In this role, you will engineer infrastructure technology for Db2, collaborating with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps. The ideal candidate should possess experience with Db2 tools and automation scripting languages like Python, as well as knowledge of Mainframe systems. What you'll do
As an Infrastructure Engineer, Db2 Systems Programmer, you'll work within a technical team in a challenging environment with many activities that run outside of normal office hours, providing on call support for Db2. You'll contribute to and manage the selection, creation and maintenance of technologies required to meet the needs of our customers, strategic targets and architecture outcomes, and ensure controls and security are applied and constantly reviewed.
We'll look to you to collaborate with stakeholders to inform product roadmaps, detailing lifecycles of the technology from new products through to end of support and retirement. You'll build relationships with others in the wider Db2 team and across the whole of the mainframe to deliver the solutions needed by our business and customers.
You'll also provide support for Db2 and its associated vendor supplied products, along with a selection of other tools, some of which may operate independently of Db2.
Additionally, you'll:
To thrive in this role, you'll have experience of Db2 and associated tools, in software development or automation scripting such as Python or Rexx. You'll also have experience in utilizing modern infrastructure as code via tooling.
We'll expect you to have the ability to learn fast and pick up detailed knowledge around Db2 and how we operate to deliver good customer outcomes.
