Infrastructure Engineer

Office based - Mansfield with occasional travel

Salary £30,000 - £32,000 pa

We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Capita Intelligent Communications (CIC) on site at our Mansfield office.

This role will require occasional travel to our other sites to provide onsite support where required – a hire car will be provided and a full UK driving licence is required.

You'll be responsible for supporting and resolving End User hardware issues within your designated region.

This is an expanding, challenging and demanding role, providing a front‑line interface between our high‑profile customers and Capita. Working to tight Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure Capita achieve its contractual obligations and to meet the business units Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Security Clearance: successful candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.

What we're looking for:
Essential:
  • Industry Knowledge: ideally hands‑on experience with equipment from mail‑room / printing / scanning technologies – interest in technology and proven desire to learn
  • Must maintain in‑depth technical knowledge of End‑User IT hardware, including Desktop, Laptop and Printers, as well as other IT peripherals.
  • Confident in being able to analyse hardware faults and use critical thinking skills to troubleshoot issues.
  • Able to evidence problem‑solving skills to quickly diagnose and resolve hardware issues.
  • Full UK driving licence
In addition, you will also have:
  • Strong attention to detail when dealing with complex computer systems, so an engineer must be meticulous and thorough in their work.
  • Ability to be adaptable and able to learn quickly.
  • Customer‑focused and committed to providing excellent service to clients.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.

What you'll be doing:
  • Diagnose and repair End‑user IT hardware break‑fix at client locations.
  • Provide installation and configuration of End‑user devices.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturer accreditation to support End‑User devices in and out of manufacturer warranty.
  • Manage boot stock spares suitable for the supported technology ensuring used items are recorded and replenished in adequate timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, upgrades, and maintenance tasks using Capita Service Management Toolsets.
