Job summary

Undisclosed company is seeking an experienced Nutanix Infrastructure & Technical Specialist to support, manage, and optimize a modern hybrid cloud built on Nutanix technologies. You will handle day-to-day operations, security, resilience, and workload migrations to ensure high availability and performance.

The role requires hands-on Nutanix NC2, AOS, AHV, and Prism tools expertise, plus strong experience in DR, security, and migration projects within enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Nutanix NC2, AOS, AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element.
• Proven knowledge of virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and VM lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Nutanix Platform Administration: manage Nutanix NC2, AOS, AHV, and Prism environments; perform LCM upgrades, patching, health checks, capacity management.
• Monitor performance and implement improvements for stability and efficiency.
• Provide technical support for infrastructure incidents and service requests.
• Oversee VM lifecycle: creation, modification, start/stop, clone, snapshot, restore, decommission.
• Develop and maintain VM templates and deployment standards; ensure governance and security policies.
• Networking & connectivity: manage VPCs, VLANs, subnets, routing; support micro-segmentation with Nutanix Flow.
• Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: design, test DR using Nutanix Leap; manage RPO/RTO; failover/failback.
• Security & Compliance: RBAC, AD & Entra ID integration, encryption-at-rest; align with security policies.
• Operations, Monitoring & Backup: configure proactive monitoring; manage backup with Cohesity; integrate alerts with OpsRamp.
• Migration & Transformation: lead migrations from VMware ESXi to Nutanix AHV using Nutanix Move.

We are seeking an experienced Nutanix Infrastructure & Technical Specialist to support, manage, and enhance a modern hybrid cloud infrastructure built on Nutanix technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, optimisation, security, resilience, and migration of workloads across Nutanix environments while ensuring high levels of availability, performance, and operational excellence.

This role requires strong technical expertise across Nutanix NC2, AOS, AHV, infrastructure operations, disaster recovery, security, and migration activities. The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, security, application, and operational teams to deliver reliable and scalable platforms supporting critical business services.

Key Responsibilities:

Nutanix Platform Administration

• Manage and administer Nutanix environments, including NC2, AOS, AHV, Prism Central, and Prism Element.
• Perform platform maintenance activities, including Life Cycle Manager (LCM) upgrades, patching, health checks, and capacity management.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to maximise platform stability and efficiency.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
• Manage the complete virtual machine lifecycle across the Nutanix estate.
• Create, deploy, modify, start, stop, clone, snapshot, restore, and decommission virtual machines as required.
• Develop and maintain VM templates and standards to support consistent deployment practices.
• Ensure adherence to governance, security, and operational policies throughout the VM lifecycle.

Networking & Connectivity

• Support infrastructure networking including VPCs, VLANs, subnets, routing, and east-west traffic management.
• Configure and maintain micro-segmentation solutions using Nutanix Flow and understand concepts related to NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW) technologies.
• Work closely with network teams to resolve connectivity issues and improve overall network performance and security.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Design, support, and test disaster recovery solutions using Nutanix Leap and replication technologies.
• Execute planned and unplanned failovers and failbacks while ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Manage and validate Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
• Support partial or subset failover scenarios to ensure business-critical services remain operational during outages.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC) across infrastructure platforms.
• Integrate systems with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID for secure authentication and identity management.
• Support encryption-at-rest configurations and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Work with security teams to maintain network security policies, privileged access controls using CyberArk, and monitoring integrations with Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.

Operations, Monitoring & Backup

• Configure proactive monitoring, alerting, and automation through Prism and X-Play.
• Manage backup and recovery processes using Cohesity and validate restoration capabilities.
• Integrate infrastructure alerts into enterprise monitoring tools such as OpsRamp to improve operational visibility.
• Produce operational documentation, runbooks, and reporting metrics to support governance and service management activities.

Migration & Transformation

• Lead and support infrastructure migration activities, including migrations from VMware ESXi to Nutanix AHV using Nutanix Move.
• Coordinate workload transitions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Perform backup restorations, data validation, and post-migration testing to ensure successful cutover and service continuity.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven knowledge of virtualization, cloud infrastructure, and VM lifecycle management.
• Experience with networking technologies, segmentation, and security controls.

• Experience delivering migration projects and infrastructure transformations.
