Job summary

Ncounter Limited is seeking an Infrastructure Developer in Plymouth, UK to build production-grade Python services, REST APIs and automation that span compute, networking, storage, cloud and CMDB data models.

You will collaborate with infrastructure, platform, security and application teams to replace manual processes with API-driven, self-service solutions at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Python software development experience
• FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic and PostgreSQL exposure
• Excellent REST API design and systems integration knowledge
• Experience modelling complex infrastructure or configuration data
• Knowledge across at least two areas of networking, storage, bare metal, virtualisation or cloud
• Kubernetes or cloud-native engineering experience
• A background building automation for large, complex technology environments
• Experience with CMDB platforms, network automation, event-driven architectures, Terraform, Ansible or high-performance infrastructure would be valuable

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

We are supporting the growth of a highly technical infrastructure engineering function and are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Developer who sits between software engineering and large-scale infrastructure. This is not a traditional infrastructure or operations position. We are building production-quality Python services, APIs and automation to remove manual infrastructure processes and replace them with reliable, self-service, API-driven capabilities. We design and develop integrations across bare-metal compute, networking, storage, cloud and workload platforms, with a major focus on building API services around a central CMDB to provide a reliable source of truth for automated provisioning, configuration and infrastructure lifecycle management. This is an opportunity for a software engineer who understands infrastructure to take ownership of complex automation problems at significant scale.
