Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Design Lead in London to guide a team delivering enterprise infrastructure services. You will craft both high-level and low-level designs and ensure architectures meet availability, security and long-term supportability goals.

You will drive lifecycle planning, emphasise automation and observability, and perform governance reviews with engineers, suppliers and security architects. DV clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Track record translating business requirements into infrastructure designs for mission-critical services.
• Technical leadership across infrastructure, platform and hosting domains.
• Understanding of NIST and CIS security controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of infrastructure solutions end-to-end, producing and reviewing both high-level and low-level designs.
• Define infrastructure architectures that deliver availability, scalability, resilience, security and long-term supportability.
• Drive infrastructure lifecycle planning, including technology refresh, capacity growth and platform evolution.
• Make automation, observability and operational efficiency core to how solutions are designed.
• Carry out technical assurance and design governance, reviewing designs from engineers, suppliers and third parties.
• Ensure operational support needs are built into solutions from the outset.
• Partner with solution architects and security architects to create integrated end-to-end outcomes.
• Lead technical investigations, proof of concepts and technology evaluations.
• Establish infrastructure design principles, standards, blueprints and reference architectures.

What You’ll Bring

• Significant experience designing enterprise infrastructure solutions, including producing and reviewing high-level and low-level designs
• A track record translating business requirements into infrastructure designs for mission-critical, business-critical services
• Technical leadership that brings clarity and guidance across infrastructure, platform and hosting domains
• Understanding of NIST and CIS security controls
• Demonstrable experience across several areas such as:
• VMware Cloud Foundation
• Enterprise server platforms and Windows Server
• Linux (e.g., RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu or similar)
• Enterprise storage (e.g., NetApp or Dell PowerStore)
• Backup and recovery (e.g., Veeam, Cohesity or NetBackup)
• Infrastructure monitoring and observability tools
• Automation using Ansible, PowerShell or Bash
• Core networking concepts (routing, switching and firewalls)
• Strong system design fundamentals including HA, DR, fault tolerance, scaling, capacity planning, security by design, resilience engineering and service recoverability
