Job description

The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. We work, build, and operate bespoke, technically complex, mission‑critical systems which help our clients keep us all safe and secure. We bring innovation to our clients using proven and emerging technologies, agile delivery processes and our deep expertise across the breadth of space, defence, intelligence, aerospace and maritime, all underpinned by our end‑to‑end cyber capability. We work collaboratively with global technology companies, cutting‑edge SMEs and academia to deliver the optimal solution for each client.

We are looking for a seasoned Business Analyst with a solid background in infrastructure to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering key technology and infrastructure transformation initiatives. This position is essential in translating business objectives into clear technical requirements—ensuring that infrastructure teams deliver solutions that are not only technically sound but also aligned with organisational goals and cost‑efficiency standards.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with client stakeholders to understand business goals, operational challenges and desired outcomes.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews and gap analysis sessions to gather and validate functional and non‑functional requirements across infrastructure domains.
  • Shape, challenge and refine business cases to ensure alignment with both financial return and capability uplift objectives.
  • Conduct financial modelling to evaluate the cost‑benefit and ROI of proposed infrastructure investments and upgrades.
  • Develop detailed requirement specifications, use cases and acceptance criteria to guide infrastructure design and delivery.
  • Translate complex business requirements into high‑level technical direction for infrastructure and engineering teams.
  • Support change management initiatives by identifying impacts, coordinating stakeholder engagement and tracking benefits realisation across project phases.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and iterative refinement in collaboration with delivery squads.
  • Act as a liaison between product owners, technical leads and infrastructure teams to ensure business value is consistently delivered.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within infrastructure, IT operations or cloud transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure domains (e.g. networks, servers, storage, cloud, data centres).
  • Experience with financial modelling, business case development and cost‑benefit analysis.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, impact assessments).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Scrum practices).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous and evolving environments.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on delivering practical business value.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology or related field.
  • Certifications in Business Analysis (e.g. CBAP, PMI‑PBA) or Agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, SAFe).
  • Experience working in regulated environments (Defence).
