Job summary

Fortegra is seeking a Security Engineer to safeguard data, applications, and AI systems across on‑premises, cloud, and SaaS environments. The role leads security tooling operations, investigates security events, and partners with engineering to embed security into the software lifecycle, including AI governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years in information security or security engineering.
• Familiarity with major cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Experience securing AWS, Azure, or GCP environments and CI/CD security.
• Incident response experience including triage, containment, and recovery.
• Awareness of AI/LLM security concepts and related frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of security tooling across on‑prem, cloud, and SaaS.
• Drive identification, investigation, and resolution of security events.
• Embed security throughout SDLC and secure AI adoption.
• Develop, tune, and maintain detections aligned to MITRE ATT&CK.
