Job description

The GPA’s Capital Projects team manages major construction and change projects under the Government Hubs and Whitehall Campus Programmes.

This role supports the Government’s regional development agenda, moving 22,000 Civil Servant roles out of London. The Information Management Lead will ensure project teams follow standards for information management from design to operation, developing and refining processes and governance to ensure compliance and best practice.

The role involves managing information lifecycle, promoting good practices, facilitating access, and ensuring legal compliance in information sharing and management.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing information management governance and strategy, managing a small team.
  • Managing the information lifecycle within systems, ensuring policies are followed.
  • Championing the corporate platform as the primary Records Management tool.
  • Engaging stakeholders to demonstrate systems, improve practices, and meet legal obligations.
  • Applying strategic thinking to resolve operational issues.
  • Supporting a culture of initiative and change management.
  • Understanding information processing and its relationship to other assets and digital continuity.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and legislation on information sharing, advising on information flow with external parties.
  • Managing corporate collaboration and document storage, enhancing user experience.
  • Overseeing disposal of non-record information according to retention policies.
