Job summary

Xander Hendrix Healthcare is seeking a Consultant in Infectious Diseases based in Dumfries and Galloway. The role combines infectious diseases expertise with microbiology or general medicine interests, with options to include acute medicine.

You will join an integrated infection service with a multidisciplinary team in a modern facility. The post offers a permanent/fixed-term contract, full-time or part-time, with flexible and remote working where appropriate, and a strong emphasis on teaching,

Qualifications

• Primary Medical Qualification with GMC registration and specialist recognition (MRCP/FRCPath or equivalent)
• Substantial training in Infectious Diseases with microbiology or general/acute medicine experience
• Engagement in clinical governance, audits, and guideline development

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led outpatient care across infectious diseases, BBV, OPAT, and TB.
• Deliver weekly HIV, Hepatitis B and C clinics and support outreach services.
• Provide inpatient and in-reach infection consultations across adult, surgical, and paediatric wards.
• Participate in on-call rotas (Microbiology or Acute Medicine or both) per job plan.
• Lead teaching, supervision, audits, and quality improvement projects
