Job summary

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Infant Feeding Project Midwife for a 12-month, part-time role (15 hours per week) based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. You will work with the Infant Feeding Team to implement the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative standards and support families during antenatal and postnatal care.

This role requires an organised and motivated midwife who can audit, educate and influence practice across the maternity service while acting as a role model

Qualifications

  • Essential midwifery qualifications and registration with NMC.
  • Experience in applying UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards would be advantageous.
  • Ability to audit, educate and support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the Infant Feeding Strategy and UNICEF BFI standards.
  • Undertake BFI audits and review findings with teams for improvement.
  • Promote breastfeeding in line with policy and international codes.
  • Teach, coach and provide feedback to staff to build confidence.
  • Develop resources on infant feeding and relationship building.
