Qualifikationen

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) required.
• Level 3 subject specialism; TAQA or willingness to work towards.
• Level 4 Award in Education and Training (QCF)/Certificate in Education/PGCE.
• Desirable Level 4/5 qualifications.
• Experience in a custodial environment is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Plan and review education programmes to meet course aims and objectives.
• Prepare lesson plans and learning activities with high-quality materials.
• Administer all aspects of the accreditation process for learners.
• Maintain accurate learner records and progression reports.
• Establish professional relationships with learners to create a learning environment.
• Teach lessons of 2 hours 45 minutes AM/PM as required.
• Maintain ILPs for each learner with targets and feedback.
• Cover lessons as required to meet contractual requirements.
• Manage resources within budget and promote value of equipment.
• Regularly evaluate own work and promote continuous development.
• Ensure certification for learners participating in the course.
• Provide learners with feedback and guidance on a regular basis.
• Promote programme activities with current promotional materials.
• Collaborate with colleagues and attend meetings across departments.
• Report security/intelligence information to Head of Learning Skills as required.
• Develop links with internal/external partners in the programme area.
• Promote good learner behaviour and apply disciplinary action as required.
• Carry out rub-down searches of prisoners to support security aspects.
