Job summary

Nestlé Purina in Sudbury is seeking an electrically biased Industrial Services Engineer to ensure electrical compliance and efficient operation of utilities for the factory. You will join a small, capable Services Team reporting to the Site Services Manager, supporting extrusion, elevators, conveyors and packing machinery.

Qualifications

• Minimum apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Ideal dual-skilled electrical capability.
• Ability to manage workload in fast-paced manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for utilities generation and distribution for factory operations (steam, water, effluent, etc.).
• Move from reactive to preventative maintenance using root cause analysis.
• Coach and develop the Technician group within the Industrial Services Team.
• Support compliance audits and uphold company standards.
• Assist in small projects and future capex planning.

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased Industrial Services Engineer, working as part of a team reporting to the Site Services Manager. This role is integral to the team supporting our operation ensuring all electrical compliance is held, and all electrical activities are completed in accordance with business objectives and activities for product safety, quality and plant operation/performance ensuring optimum safety, operation and delivery. The Services Team is a small but very effective team of 3 reporting to the Site Services Manager, there are regular daily checks to attend to but predominantly the rest of the work is reactive supporting the site which is currently 240 people and split over 4 different buildings mostly comprising of Extrusion, Elevators, conveyors and packing machinery.

A day in the life of a Site Services Engineer

As a Site Services Engineer, your key objective is to be responsible for ensuring optimal cost, highly efficient, quality and sustained generation and distribution of utilities for the factory operation, i.e steam, refrigeration, water and effluent treatment, hygienic air handling and compressed air etc.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the move from reactive to preventative maintenance by identifying our common recurring issues using root cause analysis and creating maintenance improvement plans
• Coaching and development of the Technician group within the Industrial Services Team
• Supporting and challenging your colleagues to maintain all company standards.
• Ensuring full support to the department for compliance audits
• Managing small projects and helping to develop future capex plans

• Minimum apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, ideally dual skilled.

• In-depth understanding of problem-solving methodology.
• Ability to influence by having strong inter person skills.
• Ability to coach across all levels and work on own initiative.
