Job summary

Kenect Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an Industrial Sewing Machinist in Aston, Birmingham. The role involves finishing rugs by sewing edges and rims with an industrial sewing machine.

Full training will be provided; two fixed shifts are available (6:00am–2:30pm and 2:00pm–10:30pm) with overtime at premium rates. Prior sewing machine experience is essential and weekend overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• Previous sewing machine experience is essential.
• Experience using an industrial sewing machine would be advantageous.
• Manufacturing or production experience would be beneficial.
• Good attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• The ability to follow instructions and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate an industrial sewing machine.
• Sew and finish the edges/rims of rugs.
• Guide the rug through the machine to achieve a neat finish.
• Check finished rugs for quality and accuracy.
• Follow production specifications and health & safety procedures.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets.
