Job summary

Airbus Broughton in the UK offers undergraduate placements focused on quality investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions within cross-site teams. You will work with digital tools and contribute to continuous improvement on wing-related projects.

Applicants must be undergraduates studying Aerospace, Aeronautical or Manufacturing Engineering, with strong communication, teamwork and adaptability, and a motivation to learn in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates only and must remain an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement.
• CV and Cover Letter outlining motivation and suitability are required.
• Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Manufacturing Engineering is expected.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Teamwork and adaptability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality issues across Airbus sites.
• Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented by accountable departments in cross-functional teams.
• Deliver changes and promote best practices by working with Quality transnational teams to harmonise processes.
• Familiarise with digital tools (Google Suite, big data tools) to analyse non-conformance data.
• Opportunity to develop knowledge of the wing product within a lineside team.

What you will be doing:

• Carrying out investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality issues supporting operational teams across multiple Airbus sites;
• Ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken by the accountable department by working as part of multifunctional teams in line with Quality rules and standards;
• Delivering changes, best practices, synergies and promoting business excellence by working with the Quality transnational teams to deploy harmonised processes;
• Familiarisation with digital tools including Google Suite and big data tools to analyse non-conformance data in order to support non-conformance reduction;
• Opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of our wing product working as part of one of our lineside teams.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be studying towards a degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Manufacturing Engineering and be someone who demonstrates:

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
