Leonardo in Luton is offering an Industrial Placement for Hardware Engineering. You will join the Hardware Engineering team to support the development of high-performance electronic hardware used in advanced Electronic Warfare solutions.

The role combines hands-on testing, circuit analysis and multidisciplinary collaboration. The programme provides paid experience (£26,228 per year) with mentoring, on-site development, and potential future opportunities through Leonardo’s Graduate Development

Qualifications

• Must be studying towards a degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, AI & Cybernetics, Physics or Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, Communications Engineering, Information Engineering, Space Engineering, Computer Communication and Networks, Cyber Security or related STEM disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of analogue, digital and mixed-signal hardware systems.
• Assist with schematic capture, circuit analysis and design activities.
• Support integration, verification and qualification activities.
• Conduct laboratory testing, debugging and validation using specialist test equipment.
• Analyse technical performance data and present findings to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, software and RF engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
• Contribute to technical documentation and design reviews.
