Morson Talent is currently recruiting for experienced Painters, with Train The Painter Qualification, to support ongoing projects at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth - one of the UK's most historic naval dockyards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all legal and procedural regulations.
  • Perform surface preparations and apply coatings by brush or roller.
  • Interpret and follow paint manufacturer's technical and safety data sheets.
  • Support and guide team members on application techniques and best practices.
  • Ensure high-quality standards in all aspects of surface preparation and coating.
  • Maintain clean working areas and ensure all equipment is properly protected.
  • Use access equipment such as scaffolding and mobile platforms.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Desirable: experience on nuclear or construction sites.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing work demands.
  • Positive team contributor with a collaborative approach.
  • Honest, open, and professional attitude.
Qualifications & Training:

Essential: Train the Painter Bronze/Silver/Gold

Pay Rates

Bronze: PAYE - Basic: £17.00, OT1: £22.10, OT2: £27.20; UMBRELLA PAYE - Basic: £22.29, OT1: £29.48, OT2: £36.28

Silver: PAYE - Basic: £17.50, OT1: £22.75, OT2: £28.00; UMBRELLA PAYE - Basic: £22.90, OT1: £29.88, OT2: £36.86

Gold: PAYE - Basic: £18.00, OT1: £23.40, OT2: £28.80; UMBRELLA PAYE - Basic: £23.56, OT1: £30.74, OT2: £37.92

Taxable lodge allowance for travelling workers: PAYE - £50.65 per day; UMBRELLA PAYE - £65.84 per day

Work Arrangements

38 standard hours a week, 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday, shift and overtime a possibility but not guaranteed. 29 days holiday annually (inclusive of bank holidays)

The successful candidate will need to achieve SC security clearance in order to fulfil this role.
