Job description

Schedule: Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm (generally off on weekends).

Perform preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings, seal, etc.; repair or replace broken parts. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Monitor start‑up of assigned area, repair any issues identified during start‑up, complete work orders, respond to maintenance calls, maintain spare parts crib and required documentation. Complete equipment moves, projects, and rebuilds. LOTO Certified, confined space experience, etc. May supervise vendors.

Accreditation from a vocational/technical school in industrial maintenance with 5 years experience. Understand basic PLC controls, read ladder logic and blueprints, understand circuit logic and power distribution, perform minor construction, troubleshoot high and low voltage, and possibly rebuild pumps, motors, gear boxes. Welding certificate, thermography experience to scan switch gear and circuit breaker boxes, etc.

Physical Demands

Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, vision and depth perception. At times required to work at high heights up to 50 ft and on building roofs.

Working Conditions

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
