Job summary

Distinct Consultancy in Manchester is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our established industrial manufacturing operation. You will provide responsive breakdown support, perform electrical fault finding on production machinery, and complete planned maintenance schedules.

Working 37 hours per week on a 3-shift rotating pattern with overtime, you will help improve reliability, document work, and support safe operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as Industrial Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding on electrical systems.
• Ability to work safely under pressure.
• Good communication and team work.

Responsibilities

• Providing responsive breakdown support to keep production running safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out electrical fault finding, repair, and diagnostic work on production machinery.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and documenting work completed.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and uptime.
• Working safely in line with site Health & Safety standards, risk assessments and permits to work.
• Assisting with mechanical maintenance tasks when required (e.g., bearings, belts, guards, alignment).
• Liaising with production teams and external contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance activity.
• Ensuring accurate completion of maintenance records and reporting recurring issues to improve reliability.
