Job summary

Forterra Plc is seeking a proactive Fitter for the Kings Dyke site in Whittlesey. The role involves 4 on/4 off days and nights, maintaining and installing equipment, and ensuring H&S and PUWER compliance.

You will engage with CMMS-based fault reporting, OEE, and maintain production quality at optimum cost. Applicants should have hydraulics/pneumatics knowledge, welding/cutting experience is a plus, and a time-served apprenticeship or HNC/D.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial installations and control systems.
• Ability to fault find and test automated machinery.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Welding and cutting experience would be advantageous.
• Strong H&S understanding is essential.
• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
• Time served apprenticeship or HNC/D.

Responsibilities

• Organise stores items and ensure stores are stocked to minimise downtime.
• Respond to fault reports (CMMS, SQCDP, OEE).
• Carry out preventative maintenance and install new equipment as required.
• Maintain health and safety standards and environmental compliance.
• Perform preventative and planned maintenance using CMMS and OEE.
• Deal with plant breakdowns and shut down prep work.
• Ensure daily log books and communications are maintained.
• Maintain housekeeping and work with engineering contractors.
