Job summary

IES Utilities Group Ltd is seeking experienced Abrasive Blasters / Industrial Painters to join our team at St Fergus Gas Terminal. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out abrasive blasting and supporting industrial coating activities on live operational gas infrastructure.

The primary focus is surface preparation to SA 2.5 standards for pipework, structural steel, valves and vessels, ensuring compliance with project specs, inspections and quality requirements within a COMAH

Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial abrasive blasting environments.
• ICATS, TTP or equivalent recognised blasting qualification.
• Confined Space Training (Medium Risk or above).
• Good understanding of SA 2.5 surface preparation standards.
• Experience working within COMAH sites and from scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out abrasive blasting of pipework, valves, vessels and structural steelwork to SA 2.5.
• Prepare surfaces in line with project specs and inspection requirements.
• Operate blasting equipment safely and efficiently, complying with site procedures.
• Assist with erection, maintenance and dismantling of blasting equipment and hoses.
• Support industrial coating and painting activities as required.
• Complete work per permits to work, risk assessments and method statements.
• Work safely within scaffold structures and confined or enclosed spaces.
• Maintain housekeeping and participate in daily safety briefings.
• Collaborate with supervisors, inspectors and other trades to meet milestones.
