Job summary

Actemium Automation Teesside is seeking an experienced Software Control Systems Engineer to design, develop, commission and maintain industrial automation and control systems across manufacturing and process industries in the UK.

You will work with project managers, engineers and customers to deliver reliable automation solutions from concept through to commissioning and handover, while leveraging emerging AI technologies to boost efficiency and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Proven experience in industrial automation, control systems or software engineering.
Strong PLC programming and commissioning experience within industrial environments.
Knowledge of platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric or Mitsubishi.

Responsibilities

Develop and commission PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA systems.
Design and implement industrial control software and automation solutions.
Produce software specifications, test plans and technical documentation.
Configure and integrate PLCs, drives, instrumentation, safety and communication systems.
Conduct FAT, SAT, testing and system validation activities.
Support installation, commissioning, fault finding and optimisation on customer sites.
Collaborate with project teams, customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards and health & safety requirements.
