Job summary

A leading educational recruitment agency in Chichester is seeking an Individual Needs Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with special educational needs. This role requires strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to help students thrive in a positive learning environment. The position is full-time and long-term, starting in September 2025. Relevant experience in supporting children with SEN is preferred.

Individual Needs Assistant – SEN Support – Chichester, West Sussex

Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Pay: £85 – £95 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Type: Full-Time | Long-Term

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chichester is seeking a dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with SEN, starting September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a pupil, helping them access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with SEN
  • Assist in adapting learning materials and classroom activities
  • Support with social interaction, emotional regulation, and classroom routines
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Promote inclusion and a positive learning experience throughout the day
Requirements
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language)
  • A compassionate, adaptable, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in children's lives
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
