Job summary

HireIQ in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Manager to lead its VAT and Indirect Tax practice. You will manage key client relationships, deliver complex advisory projects and help drive growth across the portfolio.

Working with Directors and Partners, you will mentor managers and junior staff, shape business development initiatives and oversee cross-selling opportunities while maintaining technical excellence and client trust.

Qualifications

• Extensive VAT and Indirect Tax experience in professional practice.
• Strong technical knowledge across VAT and indirect tax matters.
• Proven track record of delivering complex advisory projects.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of indirect tax clients and acting as a trusted adviser.
• Leading complex VAT/indirect tax advisory projects across a diverse client base.
• Providing technical expertise on VAT structuring, HMRC enquiries and risk management.
• Reviewing advisory and compliance work to ensure quality and technical excellence.
• Building and developing long-term client relationships.
• Leading business development initiatives, proposals and tender opportunities.
• Identifying cross-selling opportunities across the wider firm.
• Managing team resources, workflow and project delivery.
• Mentoring and developing Managers, Assistant Managers and junior team members.
• Supporting the strategic growth and development of the Indirect Tax practice.

About the Job

Working closely with Directors and Partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Reviewing advisory and compliance work to ensure quality and technical excellence

• Managing team resources, workflow and project delivery

Previous Experience

• Extensive VAT and Indirect Tax experience gained within professional practice
• Current Senior Manager or experienced Manager ready to step into a leadership role
• Strong technical knowledge across VAT and wider indirect tax matters
• Proven track record of delivering complex advisory projects
• Experience managing high-value client relationships and portfolios
• Demonstrable success in business development and winning new work
• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams
• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
