Job Description
- Oversee VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and other indirect tax filings across 18 European jurisdictions. Coordinate daily operations with the shared service centre and ensure timely submissions and payments.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of an insourced compliance model. Identify opportunities to automate and enhance tax processes and data quality, collaborating with internal teams and external advisors.
- Manage tax-related general ledger reconciliations and ensure correct accounting treatment for transactions. Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure all necessary VAT and indirect tax certificates are valid, accurate, and submitted on time. Coordinate updates and renewals with internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary contact for indirect tax audits. Prepare documentation, respond to authority queries, and liaise with relevant departments and advisors.
- Provide training and support on VAT compliance to internal teams and the shared service centre.
The Successful Applicant
- Strong experience in European indirect tax compliance, especially VAT and Intrastat reporting.
- Skilled in managing shared service centre operations and coordinating multi-country filings.
- Proficient in SAP and tax reporting tools, with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across finance, IT, and external advisors.
- Holds a relevant degree; professional tax / accounting qualifications are a plus.
