Job summary

Caudwell Marine Limited is seeking a skilled Indirect Materials & Services Buyer in Coventry. You will drive procurement for Indirect, Services, CAPEX and Aftersales, delivering cost‑effective supply while building strong supplier relationships across the business.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will develop strategies, negotiate contracts and manage risk in a dynamic, manufacturing environment with a focus on TCO and value delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ procurement/supply chain experience in manufacturing/engineering
• Experience managing Indirect, Services, CAPEX and Aftersales spend
• Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles
• Experience in a structured manufacturing/engineering org with automotive-level processes
• SME environment experience beneficial for hands-on, fast-moving setting
• Demonstrable supplier negotiation, cost reduction, sourcing strategy and risk management

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement across Indirect, Services, CAPEX and Aftersales from sourcing to supplier management
• Develop sourcing strategies to maximise value and KPI achievement
• Identify cost reduction and value‑engineering opportunities and track savings
• Ensure best total cost of ownership through evaluation of price, quality, delivery, service
• Manage supplier capacity, lead times, performance and risk across indirect and aftersales
• Negotiate robust terms protecting Caudwell Marine’s interests
• Develop supplier relationships to improve cost, quality and delivery
• Support procurement strategies for Aftermarket and NPI programs with cross‑functional teams
• Collaborate with IT, HR, Finance, Commercial, Quality and Operations
• Ensure compliance with policies, processes, audits and contracts
• Maintain procurement records and reports; support supplier reviews and Kaizen events
• Identify opportunities to standardise processes and improve efficiency
• Provide hands‑on support to the wider procurement team
