Job summary

Butler Rose is supporting a household brand in Milton Keynes with a Buyer role to join the procurement team. You will support sourcing across goods and services, work within a collaborative function, and report to the Procurement Category Manager.

The ideal candidate has procurement experience, can manage multiple projects, and possesses strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills. Hybrid working with excellent benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a procurement role with indirect procurement advantageous.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercial negotiation capability.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Degree-level education or equivalent commercial experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and implementation of sourcing strategies.
• Conduct sourcing activities in line with procurement policies and procedures.
• Manage commercial negotiations with suppliers.
• Prepare and present sourcing strategies and award recommendations to committees.
• Identify cost-saving and compliance opportunities through spend/supplier analysis.
• Support supplier onboarding and vendor setup processes.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide procurement guidance.
• Review and process purchase orders and framework order requests.
• Support category planning, resource optimisation and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Butler Rose is delighted to be supporting a highly respected household brand with the appointment of a Buyer to join its procurement team based in Milton Keynes.

This is an exciting opportunity to support sourcing activity across a diverse range of goods and services while working within a highly collaborative and established procurement function.

Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, you will support the development and delivery of sourcing strategies that drive value, compliance and commercial performance. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, helping to manage procurement activities, supplier relationships and sourcing projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the creation and implementation of sourcing strategies.
• Conducting sourcing activities in line with procurement policies and procedures.
• Managing commercial negotiations with suppliers.
• Preparing and presenting sourcing strategies and award recommendations to approval committees.
• Identifying cost-saving and compliance opportunities through spend and supplier analysis.
• Supporting supplier onboarding and vendor setup processes.
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and providing procurement guidance.
• Reviewing and processing purchase orders and framework order requests.
• Supporting category planning, resource optimisation and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience within a procurement role, with indirect procurement experience being advantageous.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercial negotiation capability.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Project management experience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Degree-level education or equivalent commercial experience.
