We are looking for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join a children’s services team on the Channel Islands. If you are unfamiliar with the channel islands, they are the gem of the British Isles, getting all the best of the British weather, whilst further benefiting from their local tax rate of just 20%.

As an IRO you will be assuring the quality of performance and service by reviewing and planning systems for the safeguarding of the children and young people of the isles; scrutinising and analysing the work of social workers on the islands looked after children’s service is part and parcel of the role – where needs be you will be challenging practice and consulting with them to make improvements.

Due to the supervisory responsibilities of the role you will be expected to be on the island from Monday-Friday, but the council does help source, and provide cheaper accommodation for those within the service. It also has its own tax legislation, meaning the role falls outside IR35

Leaders in Care can offer a rate of £56.50/h, along with a service that has received over 700 5* Google reviews – this means weekly check ins, support on your placement, and a market leading timesheet & payroll system that means Fridays are no longer a stress of refreshing your bank to see if your money is coming!

As this is a statutory role, you do require a social work qualification & registration to Social Work England.
