A leading mental health organization in Dover is seeking a qualified Independent Prescriber to join their community mental health team for older people. This role involves reviewing patients, prescribing medication, and collaborating with a supportive team. The ideal candidate will possess experience in community health services and a strong commitment to providing quality mental health care, while also engaging in leadership activities within the team. A valid UK driving licence is required for this position.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established community mental health team for older people. The independent prescriber role is a new post within the team so the successful candidate will be encouraged to work alongside medics and other leaders to develop the post and share ideas on how it is structured.
The Team includes experienced Consultant Psychiatrists, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) and other Independent Prescribers. The successful candidate will have clinical supervision and support to embed themselves into the team and build confidence in the role.
The team also includes Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Support workers and admin staff. We are a close team and very supportive of each other.
We welcome staff who share our ethos of providing high quality mental health care to our patients and their carers, whilst also taking care of each other. We are seeking a qualified Independent Prescriber with experience of working in Community Health services for Older People.
The successful candidate will work alongside our Medical Team including Consultant Psychiatrist and Advanced Clinical Practitioner. The role will involve working in clinic to review patients and their current treatment and to prescribe medication within the scope of practice.
The role may also involve visiting people in their own homes or in Care Homes to carry out medical reviews.
The post will include a leadership role and the candidate will work closely with other leaders in the team to develop quality improvement and to deliver training and advice to other clinicians within the team.
Full, valid UK driving licence and access to a car/vehicle for business use (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Base location is Coleman House in Dover, but will involve working across locality including Folkstone and Deal.
