A local government authority in the UK is seeking an Independent Living Officer to assist individuals in achieving independence through assessments and provision of equipment. This vital role involves engaging with communities and supporting clients within their homes while working within a multi-disciplinary team. Ideal candidates will have a commitment to person-centred care and a desire to develop their careers in health and social care.
Calderdale Council are pleased to offer the opportunity to undertake the role of Independent Living Officer (ILO) within the Reablement Team.
The role has been redesigned and regraded to encourage people who are thinking about a career in Health and Social Care, combining elements of Occupational Therapy, modern approaches to community rehabilitation, reablement and innovative use of Assistive Technology to support independence and community inclusion.

The role of ILO will be to support people to live as independently as possible through engagement, assessment and provision of equipment and aids to support independent living. You will assess, provide and install aids, equipment, adaptations, personal care, medicines management, rehabilitation exercises and support for carers to meet identified needs to support people to live safely at home and maximise independence.
