Job summary

A dynamic fostering agency in the UK is seeking an experienced Independent Foster Parent Reviewing Officer to conduct annual reviews and ensure quality oversight for foster parents. As a qualified social worker, you will produce reports that support foster parent development and enhance the care provided to children. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fostering regulations and the ability to challenge practices constructively. This home-based role also allows for flexible working arrangements.

Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for an exciting and rare opportunity to support and develop foster parents?

The Independent Foster Parent Reviewing Officer (FPRO) will be an experienced self-employed independent social worker, overseen by Fostering People's Quality Assurance and Safeguarding Manager.

Are you interested in joining us and maintaining the very highest quality oversight of our foster parents' development to ensure they provide the best care for our children and young people?

About the role

Fostering People is a 4 times Outstanding Fostering Service since 2013 which places best practice at the centre of our work with Children and their Foster Parents.

As a FPRO you will undertake foster carer annual household reviews and produce high quality reports that contribute to the development of our foster parents and our fostering service.

In preparation for annual reviews, you will review and audit the quality of oversight from our fostering service and hear feedback from children, young people, and other professionals. As part of the role, you will undertake practice assurance and on occasion support the service with other duties where required.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • You will be a qualified social worker and have experience of working with Children who are Looked After and Fostering, as well as social work practice leadership.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards, care planning legislation, reviewing officer regulations.
  • Awareness of current national policy, evidence-based research, and best practice.
  • Ability to be professionally curious and challenge foster parents, social workers and the agency and in a way that enhances the capacity to reflect and create change in practice and relationships with children in their care.
