Job summary

A local government organization in Bridgend seeks an Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (Temporary) to provide essential support to victims of domestic abuse. Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (Temporary) Job description 37 hours per week. The post is fixed term until March 2026 in the first instance, with the likelihood of an extension for a further 12 months, dependant on grant funding.

The BCBC Assia Domestic Abuse service provides a high quality, pro‑active, needs‑led service to victims of domestic abuse.

The successful candidate will work within a multi‑agency framework to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA), you will support victims through the MARAC process and ensure the completion of their safety plans whilst managing all risks collaboratively.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

A Standard criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.

The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post.

This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
