Job summary

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council (RBWM) is seeking an Independent Member for its Audit and Governance Committee in Maidenhead. You will provide independent challenge and oversight of governance, risk and control, working with external and internal audit to support public accountability.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medium/large organisation at a senior level.
• Financial management, governance or internal audit experience is advantageous.
• Must have local connections to Windsor and Maidenhead area.
• Agree to abide by the Members Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Comment on reports from the External Auditor and consider annual audit letters.
• Comment on the annual internal audit strategy and plan.
• Comment on SWAP internal audit reports and related activity.
• Monitor risk management policies and governance arrangements.
• Review the Annual Governance Statement and treasury policy as required.
• Attend approximately four in-person meetings per year in Maidenhead.
